Just thinking again

Hi
How would you go about changing the format from exe to another one? I have
tried to send my show to some who use Windows XP with 2000 and they can not
view anything that is in exe format at all, plus a lot of people are afrai
d of opening up anything with this extension as they are afraid of a virus.

I have sent to people with Xp with no problem, being it is an .exe extension I tell them it is clean and ask that they scan it anyhow to be safe.
do not see that you can change the exe file extension, will not work...

I send it to a lot of others who like me use XP and yes they can get it as
long as they want to open up exe files or do not have their security set to
o high. Have found that Norton is good for kicking it out, but I have some
friends who use office 2000 on their XP and they can not get it at all. San

Does anyone know if one could design a free web site and show our
presentations using the using the web slide show format? If it's not
an .exe file most servers might permit it. I'll read any replies on

Thanks .. I know that part but it seems that the way that XP office with 20
00 on it is set up that there is not any way that you can get any exe shows
or programs with that and that came from a guy who works with that program
for Microsoft. It seems that they did this for the reason that it is mostl
y used by offices and they do not feel that exe is a necessary thing for th
em to use but I personally feel that it should be at the discretion of the
owner of the computer as to what you can and can not see or do with it. San

Outlook 2000 (or XP) has various levles of security. By going in
ther registry you can modify this (e.g. indicating which type of
files like *.EXE files can be opened or saved). There is on the
microsoft support web site detailed help HOW you can do that

I had similar situation - folks sent over slideshows with pictures
we wanted to see. After chanuing the registrykey (with the help of
the microsoft support web site) we were able to run them ....

I know you can set up a free website through yahoo. I did a website for my
son's high school wrestling team and have two slide shows on it. they work
great. Mine is a paid site, but I'm pretty sure it would work on the free
site also.
