Hi:
I back up my computer by making a drive image of the computer
on a cd-r disk (which is a regular non rewritable CD's).
Using Windows XP for the OS. I reduce the size of the XP OS
to about 3.5MB by removing a lot of the junk that was in it.
All of my other programs take about 2MB so it will all fit
on one disk with room to spare.
The backup take about 5 minutes and a restore take about
3 minutes.
