Doing a show on VCD
I do not yet have Easy Creator for burning a VCD yet but want to know if I should get the new version out that is version 6 as that is not listed on the ones work with this program or should I look for the 5 version of it. Also I take it from reading the tutorial that I can do the show now and choose the format for the Easy creator and burn it later on. Is this correct? I know that the transitions do not work good for doing this but is it an automatic what I would call cut that moves one picture to the other one? Also do I still use the tab that I can see what each one will look like on the show or do I have to just go with the automatic crop to fit screen on doing it this way? Also for example if I have thirty pictures what would be a good number of songs to play with it? Is there any special way of figuring out a method for doing this? I have noticed on doing the shows for on the computer that sometimes the pictures stay on longer than what I had set and I take it that this is to go along with the music. Maybe I need less music or more pictures. As you can see I am still experimenting with the program but love it. Also is there a place on the internet that I can download the Easy Creator program from? I realize that I have to pay for it but thought that this may be the best way to obtain it. Thanks Sandy Davenport |

Thanks Sandy > Davenport Sandy, the way I figure the music time is: for 30 pics, show each 10 seconds that's 300 seconds plus 5 seconds each transition=150 second, add both=450 seconds thats 7 1/2 minutes of music needed. Find one or two songs about 3 minutes 50 seconds each. Should come out well at end of show. |

Doing a show on VCD
Hello Sandy, Personally I prefer Nero for burning software, I think it is t he best. You can I think download a demo from www.nero.com but it is large at around 13Mb. I use a downloader that is cumulative if I get disconnected . John |

Personally, I prefer Nero. Easy CD Creator has really poor customer support and Ver 5 had a major bug that trashed many XP systems. They admitted to the bug, but did not provide a fix. That totally put me off ANY Roxio product. None of my e-mails to tech support were ever answered. The knowledge base was down for "updates" for 6 months. Nero's interface seems childish at first, but once you get past the Wizard, it's great. They also have add-ons for different codecs. Rick |

Doing a show on VCD
HI John I have had a lot of people tell me that Nero is the best but that Easy Crea tor is easier to use. I am thinking of downloading both on here as I do hav e a large harddrive and also am on a DSL so things move along pretty fast f or me. I sure do not miss a dial up at all. I had downloaded some sort of Nero thing but not sure now what it was and I burned a disc using it with the NRG or NGR whichever it is but have not ha d a chance to see if it works yet as I do not have a DVD player but hope to check it out this weekend at a friends home. Worse comes to worse I have a disk that I can erase or will have one more coaster to use LOL. I took that Nero off of here as I really had a hard time trying to figure i t out but it had to be a different version as it was much smaller than the one that you recommend here. I will try this one for the heck of it and see if I can figure out how to use it. I swear the older that I get the denser I get and I hate it when I can not figure things out easily. Thanks once more Sandy |

Doing a show on VCD
Hello Sandra: I have a basic ECDC version 5.3.0 that came with my Gateway burner. I'm using Win98 First Edition. I'm having no problems at all, and it is easy to use. However, I suggest you check out the ECDC Message Board at Roxio.com Support. Lots of people are having lots of problems with upgrades, especially those with WinXP. wrote: > Thanks Rick if you see my reply to John Greenwood on the forum then I will not have to redo it but am going to give the Nero a shot again. Hi Sandy, If you use the wizard I am sure with a little practice you will f ind it easy to use. I thought like you when I first got it that it was diff icult, but it isn't really. It does give you much better results with less coasters. In fact when using xat and you come to the closing stages just se lect to make an .nrg (nero) file and it will start up Nero automatically an d with me all the correct settings have been selected. So all I need to do is select the burn button and that's it. Make sure "disk at once" is select ed. I have been burning at 4x which is the max of my burner. Someone mentio ned the other day that vcd's could be played with Windows media player but I haven't so far checked it out. John |

Doing a show on VCD
Hi John I downloaded the Nero on here again and will try to see how it works out ei ther later on today or tomorrow but now to do one of the shows with the cre ator part of the Xat where it says allow crop do I leave that marked as is and can I still set the cropping that I like in the other part or do I give up that choice now? Would you mind writing to me directly? The reason that I ask this is that there a while ago when you were trying to help me on here someone got a bit upset with it . If so my addy is sdavenp1@ and I would apprec iate your help with this. Many thanks Sandy |
