Transition WIPE

since I am using xatshow version 7, I have a problem with the transition WIPE. If there are sucessive transitions of this type, the first WIPE is carried out from left to right, the second one from right to left, the third one from bottom to top and so on.

This behavior is annoying and makes the WIPE rather unusable. I wonder, if there is a workaround. For it is working fine in the preview.

Unfortunately the error is still present in version 8.

Regards, Hardy

Wipe was designed that way ...

What sort of slideshow are you making?
Chris.

Hello Chris,

Sure it has been designed that way. But why then does WIPE only work from the left to the right in the preview?

My slide shows are for PCs mainly. So far I have only made one CD for TV.
As possible workaround I see the following proceedure:
1. Design slide show with xatshow vers. 8.00 using the comfort of storyboard and Timeline.
2. Compile the show with xatshow vers. 5.02 to get the desired transition.

Up to now I have avoided the unsteady WIPE and used FADE instead. Too much change of the transitions distracts the attention from the pictures, which has to be avoided.

Thank you and regards,
Erhart

The way it is supposed to work (and I checked it out and it seems ok) is that if you just choose Wipe and no other transition, you get a left to right. If you choose random you get left, right, up and down. The idea is that random is a jumble so random directions look fine. If you want all Wipes then one direction looks better.

Chris.
