I did up a show which is an exe but I had tried to do one up for the
CD/DVD and now have in the folder where I save my shows a NGR file
which is huge. Would someone please tell me what this is as I got
notices that it could not do the show for the CD/DVD on due to my
burner that I have on here.
Also has anyone used Easy CD Creator 5 to do up shows with? thanks
for any help and info Sandy Davenport

An .nrg file is a nero file and should burn to a cd with Nero. You say ngr,
was that a mistake?

Hello Sandy

If you have Nero you can burn a CD with it and the .NRG file.

If you have Easy CD 5 you need to select it on the VideoCD Settings page (under
CD writer file type) and you can use Easy CD to burn the .CIF file which xatshow
makes.

I am sorry but yes I did make a mistake in writing it down. Okay now I have
a better idea what that is and I guess the only thing now to do is to try
to send to the burner and see what happens. Heck the worse thing is that I
will end up with another coaster from the disc. I may have to consider gett
ing another burner if I want to proceed with doing this but do not understa
nd why one burner will work and not another one. Are you familiar with the
EZ CD creator program at all or not.
My problem is that the guy who set up this computer for me used the hard dr
ive from my old one to transfer everything to the new one telling me that t
he software would not work on here with XP but I am not sure that he was ri
ght but since he has been in the business for several years hated to really
question him on it. When I had my old puter and the original software I ha
d a lot more different choices of burning than what I do now.
Thanks again for taking the time to help me out with this. I really appreci
ate it and hate to act so dumb about the whole process. I keep going to the
forum and taking notes from it to hopefully learn more about the program,
as I do like it the best of any that I have tried out. Sandy

Hi Sandy,
My burner is a Mitsumi and I use Nero as the software. I used to have the a
daptek a long time ago but had so much trouble with it, got rid. It produc
ed such a lot of coasters. So I can't now really advise on EZ CD. I am fair
ly sure that Nero is the best on the market.
I would suggest you first try burning to a rwcd so as not to waste if thing
s go wrong.
What do you mean, may have to get another burner. Are you talking of the cd
writer? How many burners do you have?

Hi
Yes I was talking about the CD burner which is Acer by brand and which has
worked great for me for regular burning of songs and stuff like that and I
use it to put all of my pictures and things on as the original CD rom that
came with the computer is not working. I am just looking to get the best th
at I can afford to put on the computer so that even though I do not have a
DVD player myself either for the television or on the computer I can do up
disc that will work in them as my one daughter does have one.
I just burned the one show that I had mentioned earlier to you on disk but
of course now have to wait until I get a chance to see if it will work on t
he DVD player or not but have my doubts. I burned it from the NGR file so w
ill see.
I love to play with this stuff and really like the slide program for the m
ost part but have only tried a couple of others before. I do find this one
fairly easy to navigate through and although I have seen a couple of others
with some really nice transitions on it that this one does not have and ar
e nice I guess there are enough on here to use.
Do you suggest using only one or two for a whole show of say 10 minutes lon
g to keep it interesting or what? Thanks once more.
Gee just looked out the window and it is snowing once more. Sandy

Sandy.
I see you have used the nrg file, do you actually have Nero because you can
't burn an nrg file with EZCD.
On a pc show I usually use random setting for transitions, but with a vcd d
on't use them as I find them a distraction after a while. Some of my creati
ons are quite long, around 500 images with maybe 8 slideshows on the one me
nu.

Hi again
No the only thing that I have on here with Nero is what is in one of the pl
ug in filters for Irfanview but know nothing about that at all only what I
have heard. Sorry to sound so dumb but when It comes to understanding the c
omputer I sure am.
I did not get the EZ creator program yet but was thinking of it. Is Nero so
mething that you can just buy as a program to download?
I don't even know how I ended up with the NRG file but it showed up in the
folder that I keep the slide shows in after I finished the one up. I have
not noticed that showing up before when I only did the pc/slide show one bu
t when I tried to use the tab for the create CD one is when it came up so I
have just saved it for now and did send to a disc but of course I can not
play it on here as I do not have DVD and am not sure that it is good for an
ything at all.
It does say though on the site that you can burn with the EZ Creator so tha
t is why I had thought of buying it as it is reasonable in price but do not
want to waste money on something that is going to be of no use to me. Woul
d rather spend a bit more on something that I am going to be able to work w
ith. Sometimes I feel that I am just getting in way over my head with this
stuff but it fascinates me to no end. Sandy

You can download a trial copy of Nero from ww.nero.com but it is a large 13
Mb file. It can also be bought in the computer shops/ The nrg file would ha
ve been created when you tried to make a Video cd, you have a choice as reg
ards the file extension but yours must have been set to .nrg. To create a v
cd, that nrg would have to be burned using Nero.
