VCDs can only have low resolution movies (transitions) and you can't mix these
with high res stills (without breaking the spec).
VCD transitions are not too bad on a smaller TV. Also some DVD players make them
look better than others (reduce blocking artifacts etc).
So many users have asked for them we thought we should add them to VCDs. You can
include high and low res shows on the same disk if you want.
