Okay, last week I could see only a black screen in the slide show, with the error message "Image not created by Xatshow." Of course, the images were created with Xatshow, so I do not understand this error. Finally, by renaming the images using a simple 01.jpg, 02.jpg, etc, I created a new slide show and uploaded and everything worked fine. I sent the URL to many of my chums and they liked the slide show, except one chum (using Win XP and IEX 6.0) said she only received the black screen. I also use Win XP and IEX 6.0. This week I went back to the site, lo and behold, I am only receiving the black screen again! Although the web show worked last week, it does not work this week. Intense aggravation! :-( Because the web show will not display, I deleted all the files on my server, then created the web show again and uploaded all files via FTP. Still the same error message, "Image not created by Xatshow." Okay, since it doesn't work, delete everything again. Create same web show a fourth (fifth?) time and upload using Front Page. Same error. "Image not created by Xatshow." I'm beginning to think the XatshowApplet does not recognize the files created by Xatshow. I have two of these web pages posted last week, and they both worked fine. Why did they stop working? www.jbmailroom.com/lun-boots/ www.jbmailroom.com/webit/ I'm open to suggestions. > Thanks, Sandra. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Could the problem be in browser settings? The images display perfectly when viewed on my desktop, but do not display when I log onto the web page online. Tuesday I was over at my library and logged onto both web pages; the slide shows displayed perfectly. I simply cannot view online images on my computer. I have tried with the firewall ON, and with it OFF, still no changes. > Okay, last week I could see only a black screen in the slide show, > with the error message "Image not created by Xatshow." Okay, it has to be the updated security settings in Internet Explorer 6.0. I have a second computer networked to my satellite modem, and the images on my web pages as well as the Xatshow/screensaver_maker/ display perfectly. The second computer uses Win XP but has not of the windows updates applied. The gateway computer is updated with all Windows security patches, and DirectX 9.0, but will not display the web shows. All I get is a black square and the error message, "Image not created by Xatshow." (A bald-faced lie!) I guess everything is find if you don't mind creating and uploading web shows on one computer, then going to a second to view the web show. Did I mention that each web show previews perfectly when viewed from my hard drive, but not when viewed from the web. Bummer! :-( I remain open to suggestions. |

Problem solved! ;-) Evidently, due to the litigation between Sun Microsystems and Microsoft, my new computer was shipped with the MS Virtual Java Machine installed, which would not display the Xatshow applet. By going to the Sun website and downloading their free Virtual Java Machine, all my web shows work perfectly, including the Xatshow home page with the two small images! > Okay, it has to be the updated security settings in Internet > Explorer 6.0.
