Lightbulb Make your chat box for Members Only

If you want more privacy you can set your chat box to be for members only. This is ideal if you want a chat box just for family of friends. Only members are allowed to post messages and only members can view the messages.

Note that when visitors arrive at your chat box they won't be able to post but they can private chat owners and moderators and ask to join.

To set your chat box for members only:

Click on:
Then click:
Then scroll down until you see (in "other options"):

And make sure the box is checked.
Then press the "Update these options" button.

I'm very happy to see this but how does it work exactly? How does it know who are members who are visitors?

You have to make members. That means you or a moderator needs to be online when visitors come along. Members are shown by being blue.

Oops. Sorry about that's a bug that'll be fixed soon. You can work around ot by bookmarking the edit page on the web and by not clicking the "Extra features" button until we have fixed it .

You can see them turn up (green) and they can Private Chat or Private Message Owners and Mods or you can to them. Until they are made member (or mod) they can't see any messages.

thankyou. I'm actually on and saw 2 on so made them members.Once you make them members and they go offline and come back, will they be members or is this something you have to do over and over again.Hopefully once you make them member,it sticks unlike the ban button.Thankyou so much for adding the members only feature,I love it and appreciate it so much. Now I can put my chat back where I used to have it without worrying about unwanted guests.Thankyou!!!!!

Yes the member status should stick. Unlike ban there is no incentive for people to shake it off!
